We are looking for a new generation of raw, naturally talented hair braiders Coast-To- Coast.
So You Think You Can Braid preliminary entry is virtual, and the semifinalist competition will be held in Chicago IL, at the Illinois Beauty & Barber Coalition IBBC.
Rules & Regulations
No License Required
If you are an innovative hair braider, age 15-17 an adult must register you, 18 years of age or older, you are the ideal candidate eligible for SYTYCB Competition.
*Recommended braiding experience*
- ENTRY FEE $100 USD per model (2models max) The entry fee can be paid by Zelle, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover. (Entry Fee Is Nonrefundable)
- Upload before and after photos of you and your model. Basic Braid style – front, side and back.
- Cell phone photos are acceptable
- No pinup braid hairstyles for preliminary entry, you can utilize cornrows, single braids or both.
- Hair adornments should not overpower/take away from the braid style.
- Hair braid style time frame: Between 45 minutes to 2 hours
- Point System: 3 lowest- 30 highest
- Categories: Creativity 10 points, Simplicity-Neatness 10 points, Execution 10 points
- Two minutes or less video introduction (Upload video to Youtube or Vimeo); your name, email address, contact number, city & state, and why you entered this competition.
